Bio

Heather Larson dabbled in different mediums for years, but when visiting galleries found herself drawn to those rare pieces done with egg tempera. Luck slipped in when she noticed classes being offered at the Art Students League in Denver. She discovered a love of the process and a heartfelt desire to keep this ancient technique alive, especially since so few artists paint with it. 

“Keeping Egg Tempera alive is a passion for me… and a sweet obsession.  From deciding on the subject, composing the layout, separating the egg yolk, and mixing the colors. The hours will slip by as I lay down each tiny brushstroke, blending color to give shape. Lunchtime will pass and dinner whispers quietly but goes unheard.”
