Exquisite, mystical, and inspiring are just a few words that have been used to describe the artworks of Laura.  A true Renaissance woman, she is a visionary artist with numerous national and international art collectors as well as a classically trained pianist who currently has two music albums available worldwide.

With a B.F.A not only in Fine Arts – Oil Painting and Piano Performance from Bethany College, but also a Bachelors in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago, Laura brings a broad range of inventive knowledge into her pieces.

Raised on a large crop farm in Kansas settled by her great-grandfather from Germany, she was surrounded with a wonderful family and nature.  Laura’s introspective character led her to find connection in nature, cultivating a passion for the arts. As a student at Bethany College, she didn’t resonate with the college’s abstract art leanings, so instead decided to focus in the direction of fashion design. This journey took her from a costume internship in West Virginia to Calvin Klein in New York City, eventually earning a BFA in Fashion Design in Chicago. Although she co-founded a clothing company, International Citizen Design House, and worked extensively in the fashion realm, a pull towards fine arts persisted.

Following a transformative period in Mt. Shasta, California, Laura returned to Kansas where she integrated her experiences and spiritual focus into her fine art, creating her ‘sacred visions,’ a blending of traditional and innovative techniques using oil, charcoal, pastels, gold leaf, pressed flowers, and resin. With each piece, Laura’s hope is to inspire the viewer to experience oneness through the powerful force of Love.
