Bio

My name is Mickael Gedalia and I am an Israeli-Canadian artist. I attempt to portray the beauty of our creation, our amazing planet, and a larger meaning through artistic representation with each motive of my artwork. As I come from a long line of artists, it was a smooth transition from my previous artistic career in terms of shades, design, and aesthetics.

I was born in a small town in the Negev desert in the South of Israel. My childhood was filled with happiness. I spent a lot of time outdoors with my friends, working in the Kibbutz for many summers, pretending to be cowboys, playing with marbles, and exploring the desert’s mountains. I also enjoyed swimming in the local open-air pool and in the Mediterranean Sea. On Friday evenings before Shabbat, I went to watch Western movies with my father, and those cowboys were my heroes.

Life in the earlier days of Israel was filled with a lot of unexpected events and uncertainty, like wars and military operations. Even though life was simple in terms of wealth and material goods, it was very happy, rich with food, joy, and family and friends.

My first love for art started in my early childhood. I was inspired by my mother, my uncle (who was an artist, a teacher and a Kibbutznik), and my grandfather, who came to Israel from Europe after the Holocaust.

At the age of 27, I met the love of my life and was blessed to fulfill my great dream of starting a family.

A few years later, I graduated from a Dental College as Certified Dental Technician. I was able to apply and express my creativity by helping people improve their quality of life. Excelling in my profession of dental technology and ceramics brought us to many different countries, where I was able to expand and deepen my knowledge and expertise. On this journey, I also had the privilege to learn a lot about different cultures and mentalities, including the United States, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada – a country I now call home!

My artwork is currently exhibiting with private collectors in Canada, Israel, and Europe.

I also had the great honour to participate in a joint exhibition two years ago, and my artwork was displayed in a calendar featuring Jewish artists for two consecutive years. This year, I became a member of the International Guild of Realism. I am constantly evolving and expanding my knowledge by taking online art courses, and by learning from other artists from around the globe.

Today, I am a proud husband and father. Art is, and always has been, a grand part of my life.
