Rust pigmentation from copper wire and scientific iron filings creates the minimalist reflections on the blue ground. The shimmering effect of sunlight is achieved through the dye placement and tonal coloration shifts along with the use of metallic thread spread across the artwork. Dense hand stitching and the liberal use of metallic thread in the swirling pattern, enhances the piece and provides it with visual and physical texture resulting in interesting shadowing effects in various lighting conditions.
